An Amazing, Bold, Crazy Idea

I have this idea and it all stems from my mission in life: to be a light to the people

around me. Here at Light News Now we will focus each week on a person in need. This week I asked a teacher what she needed for her face to face class that begins October 19.

She said that all she need is pencils. It is a done deal. This Sunday I will meet with her and make our first donation. Let's all see where this leads!

Our main focus will be granting wishes to single moms, teachers, and seniors. Where did this idea start? It all has to do with my family being in need when I was a little girl.

When I was 10 years old my parents got divorced. When I was 11 years old my mom being a single parent didn't have enough money for a Christmas tree. Our next door neighbor knew money was tight for us, and the next day there was a Christmas tree on our front porch. Now, I want to pay it forward.

If a single mom needs a bill paid, or a grocery store gift card, or a Christmas tree I will match her to someone that can fulfill her wish.

If a teacher needs supplies we should be able to help them out or at least get them started.

If a senior citizen needs help with something to be fixed in their home we will get the ball rolling.

My wish is to eventually do live Instagram interviews with our recipients and the person who made the donation. Coming up we will be donating grocery store gift cards for Thanksgiving and donating Christmas trees in December.
